Our Mission Statement
"In obedience to the Great Commission, Andover Baptist Church exists to introduce to the world Jesus the Redeemer, as Lord and Savior, using all of our circles of influence, beginning at home."
Vision
The Church seeks to accomplish the mission through a four-fold outreach purpose. Everything at Andover Baptist stems from one of the following elements of this four-fold purpose:
Evangelism (Romans 1:16), Discipleship (Ephesians 4:12b-13), Fellowship (I John 1:7), and Worship (Matthew 4:10). These things can only be achieved when we are in line with the vision of the pastor. (Proverbs 29:18, Habakkuk 2:23)
Evangelism - To present Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to the farthest reaches of our influence, we share the love of God with our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, and anyone else within our circles of influence.
Discipleship - We are to make disciples of all people, by first religiously educating our children so that they will be equipped to lead their families, friends, and acquaintances to salvation.
Fellowship - As the body of Christ, we need each other. We are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25). Through fellowship we learn to cultivate Christian sympathy in feelings and courtesy in conversation as we witness the love of God first hand through the gathering of his people.
Worship - We promise to regularly attend the worship of God. Worship is the corporate experience of praising God. We celebrate who God is and what God has done for us individually, as a community, and as the people of God. We confess our shortcomings and our unworthiness to receive God's blessings. We commit ourselves to support one another in carrying out God's Great Commission for the church. (Psalm 102, Hebrews 10:19-25)
